Zenith Z50Z83R8 50" Rear Projection RED Goes Out

I have a 1997 Zenith Z50Z83R8 rear projection TV that the RED goes out. I have unhooked the signal lines coming into the CRT driver boards and also switched the entire boards between CRT's. The problem seems to follow the signal line on the RED. Not the CRT boards. I have already replaced the notoriously bad resistors on all three CRT boards (can't remember the value or reference designator). The RED will work sometimes for days then go out. If I remove the back TV housing and put a large fan blowing through the unit the RED will come back on...but this has become less repeatable over time and now the RED does not come on no matter how much it is cooled. Sometimes fooling with the saturation and focus pots (G4?) the RED would come back on. I feel this is an easy fix or a few small part but I'm not sure where to begin looking because I don't have a schematic.
