audio help Can't Post

i have a 50" phillips 50PL9126D/37 the only way i can find to hook it up to surround sound system is with the spdif, which in the book says sony or phillips digital interconnect format, but i cant get it to work no matter where i connect it on the reciever. the reciever is a pioneer VSX-D409. thanks for any help

ok i plugged the cable into the sat/tv input and when i turn it all the way up i can bearly hear anything and it has alot of static, left or right input doesnt matter same result
