audio pinout for sony kv2781r? Can't Post

I recently got an old 27" sony. It doesn't have audio outputs on the back, and the internal speakers were blown from the last owner. The last owner clipped the speaker wires really short and used them to connect to some external speakers he had. But when he gave me the tv, he didn't include the speakers or the wiring. So now, all I have is a socket in the TV. I can't remember the exact pinout or what it says (I'll have to open it up and post it later), but I tried a variety of pins to my receiver. I've gotten it so that sound does work, but volume control just makes it click really harshly at one point. Anything I'm missing? Another control unit that's actually supposed to plug in here?

Thanks

No one in their correct mind does that. If the TV is connected to the mains by a 2 pin plug, it is double insulated. A speaker lead coming out of the cabinet corrupts that. Now if you have a power plug wired incorrectly you could have mains voltage on one lead. If I were to give you advice as to what to do and you got yourself killed, I could be charged with manslaughter. Sure there is more to the issue than I care to go in to but the simple fact is this is not safe, who do you wish to kill.

Thanks for the frank reply. I do appreciate it. But the sound module is on a secondary board and I doubt there's any current to it besides sound output, so there's no real risk of electrical shock. I did probe the leads with a multimeter last time to try to find what the proper pinout was, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I misspoke a little in my original post about what I've done / what I want to accomplish. But basically, the pinouts do lead to eventually to the internal speakers, so connecting them to external speakers should be no different. And if the input on the receiver supports non line level inputs, it should all theoretically be the same, so judging by your response, I'm assuming there's something extreme that I'm overlooking. I know the tv doesn't have a ground, so it's all internal, but assuming no shorts, it should make no difference with any external wiring still. I'm only first year EE at this point, so obviously I haven't gotten into anything more than intro courses, but nonetheless, there shouldn't be any risks if the "daughtercard" doesn't have any 120v. If I have time tomorrow, I'll take off the case again and post the silkscreened text by the pinouts. I remember them being offset from the actual pins and there being more pins than what was written though, hence the confusion as to what they were.

As it is, I could have already wired up to the receiver with working sound. But the problem was that there was no volume control and any attempts would result in massive clicking to the speakers, which I worry would damage them in the long run. Knowing that, I wouldn't have a problem personally with just adjusting volume through the receiver, but since the tv would be shared by multiple people, I'm sure others would constantly be trying to adjust volume to no success.

Then go your own way. When you dont understand how electricity works or what double insulation is then do as you must. But be warned, that does not pass code, you kill someone and that is a likely outcome, then dont tell people you were not advised.

Are you sure the original TV speakers are blown?

I suggest if you don't know much about sound circuitry, but if you know where the speaker jumper is,normaly if stereo the plug has 4 pins 2 ground and 2 +,just get yourself 2 wires connected to a 5w speaker and just touch the pins if you have the tv on you'll here sound, then you know which pins to solder the wires.

I have the TV open at the moment. There's 5 pins, and 6 labels silkscreened. They're off alignment with the pins, but they go: amp, vcc, l_out, c_out, r_out, e.
