Re: [charlesd] display on screen [In reply to] Can't Post

charlesd;.....

I've been online since 07/08/07 & had more than my share of problems...
Had to do complete reformats several times , NO FUN there...Unsure...
Had some viruses , trojans etc...
Now I have Avast active at all times when I'm online...
Can't say enough about that program....Smile..Smile..Smile...
I have SlimCleaner & CCleaner that I use every time I go offline...
I also scan with MBAM & Spybot S&D regularly once a week...
I defrag often with Auslogics Disc Defrag...
I keep those programs updated once a week & the Windows updates are done automaticaly...
I stay away from bad websites , altho I land on one occassionally , Avast gives me a warning & I'm gone in a flash...

Most of my glitches can be corrected with Erunt or restore...
Right now I'm getting a strange problem with NetZero...
For awhile , I was having a problem with my password...
I was keeping the password when I shutdown...
I decided that that was not a good idea & unchecked the Keep Password box....
On some occassions when I opened up NetZero to go online , my password appeared even tho it was not saved...
So I'm having fun(?) with that...
IF it continues , I'll give your website a shot....

Re: [Ron.M] display on screen [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Ron ... It's 4:30 pm Sun here in South Ga and this thing says you sent this at 8:25 pm today. Unless I have completely lost it that means you are out in the Atlantic somewhere or maybe Europe. I think if you were west of me it would mean 4 hours the other way. Not being nosy, just probably confused. Or does this site have the wrong time?
We are using most of the same programs for security ... I have Microsoft Security Essentials and MBAM and Spywareblaster. I pay the few dollars for the auto updates on the last 2. Well worth the money. MSE is free and updates with windows updates. I of course have passwords for email and other programs but don't use one for loggon to internet. It's there with AT&T but set so I don't have to enter it every time. No one except wife mite use this machine so I don't worry about that. And I don't use a windows password. I also use CCleaner ... very good program. And the free version of Revo uninstaller. Cleans up more than the windows uninstall. I'm not sure it matters as I think CCleaner would finish cleaning it up anyway.
I like Avast too. It was sort of a toss up which one for me to use.
I used to defrag til I learned that Win 7 does it's own. So no more defrag. If I have a problem it's cause I did something stupid.
Well I'm wanted on the phone. Probably a grand child wanting moneyUnsure.
See U

charlesd;....

You need to go to your Profile page to get the time right...
Click on "Display Settings"...
Go down to the bottom where it says; """Time Offset (in hours)""" & tinker with that till you get the time correct on the posts you make...
Since I'm on PST & you being in "Peach" Standard Time (Sly) , I'd suggest you set it for -11...
I'm at -9...

Win 7 defrags automatically ???

Have fun....Smile...

Hey Ron ... Yes the time is wrong on my profile. It even has the month wrong. I'll fix that. There are 3 hours from me to you as I understand it.
Yes win 7 has it's own defrag. Ck this out http://downloadsquad.switched.com/...-disk-defragmenting/
I leave my machine on all nite once in a while for that reason. I haven't cked to see if it could be done manually.

I used a third party defrag once and it emptied my recycle bin. I like to do that myself cause it is a holding area till I am sure I'm ready to let the file go.
til next time

WHOOOOAAA !!!
Are you sure about that ???

Depending on what time zone you are in, maybe...
3 numerically , yes...
Actually , 2...
I'm in the Pacific Standard Time zone...(PST)...
So if it's 7:00 AM here , I'm guessing it's 9:00 AM there....
That's why I suggested "-11"...
Not sure what time zone Georgia is in...

Have a great day & week...Sly..

Unless they haven't changed it recently there is 3 hours difference between eastern and pacific time. I have a relativeMad in California and I called to be sure. I was even out there once.Cool And then there is this web site. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/to/pst/to-est/index.htm

The important thing is that you know what time it is there and I know what time it is here. WinkThis has been fun and I learned stuff... what more can anyone ask for.
Have a good one ...

charlesd;.....

I know where Georgia is but did not know what time zone you are in...
I was thinking you were on Central Standard Time...

To adjust my earlier statement;..
4 numerically , yes...
Actually , 3...
I'm in the Pacific Standard Time zone...(PST)...
So if it's 7:00 AM here , I'm guessing it's 10:00 AM there....
That's why I suggested "-11"...
New suggestion "-12"...
The reason for the time situation difference is due to the fact that this forum originates from Australia...

Have a GREAT Holiday Season....Smile...Smile...Smile....
