diy sunbrite skyview outdoor TV, Just add more leds to regular tv? Can't Post

I had a worker that used to work for an outdoor tv company. He claims that all they do is add more leds to the inside of led backlite TV's and then make a special housing so the tv is water proof with vent fans and such.

I want to make an advertsing kiosk that will be in a very bright area some times, so I need the brightness but not the water proof factor.

I know the blacks will turn to a dark gray when one has more backlights and I know adding a small fan would be prudent to prevent heat build up.

has anyone done this? would a HDR tv be superior than a standard one to modify?

I have taken apart a standard LED backlight tv, but I have never taken apart an HDR one, is there something in HDR TV's panels/lcd that makes them keep blacks better or are better blacks solely due to localized led diming?
thanks for insight!
