hp p1130 woes! Can't Post

Hi

I've got a hp p1130 Trinitron monitor that was from 2004, but only taken out it's box new two years ago. Everything was fine for 18 months, but for the past 6 months it's developed an issue where upon startup from cold it'll flash blue and the screen will rapidly go on and off for about 30 seconds. After this event however it's fine and will stay on without issue as long as I need it to.

Can somebody diagnose the actual issue, cause and probable repair options for this?

Here's a video of the issue. It's only 8MB

Start by checking for bad solder joint(s) on the flyback pins and the CRT socket pins. Any damage to boards may be observed while disassembling / reassembling.
Mark G2 control (so as to be able to return it to its starting point) With unit turned off rotate from one extreme to the other and then set back to original setting. You can do the same to the Focus control.
