no picture but have sound Can't Post

i have a 55" phillips magnovox projection screen with no picture but it has sound. the bad part i think is called the high voltage block. part #60362 YA 00385 L1D1 E17865 its wired from the transformer to the high voltage block. then it has three wires that go to the picture tubes. the block was replaced and the high voltage came up.but still no picture.then found the wire that causes the tubes to heat up was loose. un plugged the tv and pluged the heater wire back up. then plugged the tv back up and and turned power back on and then one of the picture tubes arked and then blew the resistor at the high voltage block. what else could be wrong?

before you replaced the h/v block did the h/v come up? did the picture tube arc internally? you might try disconnecting the board from the tube that arced to see if you have a bad tube.

no the high voltage didnt come up before the block was replaced. and im not sure if it arked internally are not i was at the front of the tv when it happened. could the tube had gone bad and caused the block to go bad are could the block have went bad and caused the tube to go bad.

are you sure you connected all the wires correctly esp. the ground wires, if you don't connect a ground wire to a tube, that can cause a catastrophe that is hard to fix. what resisotor are you talking about that got blown?

typically when you have a resistor smoke, there is a short on that line, it could be that one of the secondary suply voltages that are generated from the flyback are shorted, suspect a diode along that same line, or a shorted chip but you would need to trace this, and w/o a schematic it's difficult
