panasonic tx-p42s30e blink of the death Can't Post

Good morning,

I've found a 42'' panasonic tx-p42s30e plasma tv in the street, and I took it in order to call the waste disposal.

It has the glass broken. I've tried to turn it on, but it doesn't.

The green led below the screen blinks few times (4-5 times) then it shut down again.

I was wondering about trying to repair it and use it as a service monitor for my office, even if the glass is broken.

But I don't know if the blinks are related to the screen or some logic card inside of it that is not working, and if it is possible (and not very expensive) to fix it.

I'm pretty new to this stuff, as I'm a computer scientist. So sorry if dumb questions are been made :)

Thank you guys in advance.

Luca

Recheck model - not sure about glass.

Many thanks for your response.

It seems like its the P+ 5V SOS A-Board.

should it be something related to the usb power supply (5V) ?

The led is blinking very very fast, so I have to be sure that is blinking 5 times.

do you think it's possible to just avoid this card instead of replace it? or just bypass the check or something.

Thank you again

Luca

With ALL connectors plugged in ...

Plug in the TV. Do not turn the power on.

Do the AC relays click after the TV is plugged into the AC line?

All connectors, you mean the internal connectors?

Didn't get the time to open the tv chassis, so plugging the AC, the relays don't click.

When I turn the the tv on, relay click; 5 blinks; relay click; stand-by

I'm attempting to have you follow the "Troubleshooting No Power/Dead Symptom (Power LED is Off)" flow chart in a tech training manual. (you never said IF the model in your subject line is correct or not - I can't find it listed on any Panasonic company websites).

You'll need to open the set up.

Unplug the TV and place your volt-meter on pin 6 of connector P6. Plug in the TV
But do not turn the power on.

Is there 5V present when the TV is plugged into the AC line?

sorry, my bad. The technical sheet suits my tv model.

I've already ridden the "Troubleshooting No Power/Dead Symptom (Power LED is Off)", and i've noticed that the 5v board may be damaged, according to the number of blinks.

I'm gonna open the chassis tv as soon as I have some time to spend into it and I'm gonna test it following your directions.

"The green led below the screen" Does it light at all BEFORE you press the power button?
