hi everyone
cracking forum with some very useful post .
heres my problem i have a philips 50pfp5532d 50" plasma tv
was watching it and all off a sudden the picture went off and left me with a black screen??
sound is still working fine as are volume and all other functions on the remote and at the side of the tv(although no on screen display)
ive done all the usual checks and hooked up a ps3 as well as a dvd player along with a tv aerial but no joy.
ive done a bit of digging about and seems there could be a problem with a couple of capisitors inside the main tv.
can anyone confirm this is the case ? or am i barking up the wrong tree??
im quite handy with a soldering iron and know my way round electronics a little.
any help

Crazy Look at youe upper and lower buffer boards. Located at far left of TV. Check the flat IC's that are on the boards. Do any of them have small little wholes or look burnt? If so, then start there. If not, let me know and will continue a bit further. Good luck to you.

hi yes thanks for the tip.
i have actually pulled the back off the set tonight and found the problem ,it just so happens that the upper board part no lj41 05121a has a blown ic all smoked and melted .
i have ordered the full board along with the lower and the ysus as having read abit more into it its apparently better to replace the ysus too and the lower board

seems its also a samsung part too ??

just while your about is there a capistitor than can cause me any problems on these boards???
i just want to be made aware of exactly were they are just incase lol
i can see theres 2 or 3 big main ones but is there any i should be aware off on the boards i plan to replace
