sony kd-34xbr2 fuse blown? Can't Post

Hi,

I have a 2 year old sony kd-34xbr2 and the power just went. It seems like i have a warrenty but can't prove it since my paperwork was lost during a move. I called a local repair guy and he replaced a blown fuse (the one near the power cable, not sure if there is another one) and that fuse blew right away after powering on the tv. He did mention that the new fuse was 1amp lower than the original one "but that shouldn't make a difference" is what he said. Any suggestions? Should I go to radioShak and get the correct fuse?

Sometimes fuses just blow because of a power surge or maybe just a weak fuse but not often. There is most likely a shorted component in the power train (anywhere from a shorted diode in the bridge rectifier to a shorted HOT) which is causing the fuse to blow. Unfortunately, only a person with the proper knowledge and test equipment can say for sure what and where that component may be.
