my tv has great sound but the video keeps going on and off but sound remains i was told i need a m- module does anyone know what that is or could it be something else !!! any help or advice would be great!!!

You probably have a weak crt. When one of the guns gets weak, sony tvs automatically blank out the picture. I've seen this numerous times mostly on ones manufactured between 1994 and 1996. If it was made during these years, the picture tube is probably bad.
