Generic response due to lack of a specific model or chassis number in the original post.

Open up the console and follow the degaussing coil wires to where it plugs into the main board. Very near plug there will be a thermistor that possibly just needs a lead to be resoldered to the foil.

Dont waste your money Sony has that inside your TV and you will not use it. After many years of a TV repairer I became sick of going out to a Sony with this complaint. I then unplugged the TV, told the customer to leave it off for 24 hours (Well I like to extract some pain, that way it sinks in) and I never had a recall. You are leaving your TV on standby, use the manual switch , and switch off overnight or unplug. If you have an issue after that, move the magnet thats in the coloured corner. That is not in but outside your TV, its a speaker or other such item. If you cant find it , turn the TV from say N/S to E/W if it clears its a magnet outside the TV find that and do not stuff around trying to fix a non existant issue.

Update to my prior post now that the model is known:
(Check this 1st - you may not have to purchase the manual degaussing coil)
Plug = "D-17"
Thermistor = THP601 (1-806-214-00).
