tv aspect changing automaticaly during euro 2004

while watching the euro 2004 football the tv aspect changes automaticaly when it goes from any part of the program to veiwing the acual football match. i have a full screen when the comentators are on but when it switches to the football match i get two black lines down each side of the screen. ive tried changeing the aspect of the tv but that does not sort it. i dont see a W when i press select on my sky remote so i thought that i am not recieving a widescreen signal but on other channels it is the same but the picture fills the whole screen. i am confused. anyone got the answer?
