very loud noise on recertified set Can't Post

Hello, I recently purchased an OLEVIA 37" 1080i LCD HDTV and I have no warranty. It was a recertified open box item. (never again!)

Recently, it started to have tons of lines going berserk all over the screen as soon as I turn it on. I turn it iff and on again to correct it. That works, but there is also usually sounds that accompany it like cracks and pops. The latest discovery the other day was a deafening unending BUZZ that about scared me to death. It was LOOOUDDD! Thought the unit was gonna blow up. Scared the dog too. haha any recommendations? Thanks guys. I appreciate you looking.

take it back.here in Europe its not allowed to sell goods even recertified or "managers specials" as they are known in the UK without some sort of warranty. is this not the case where you are?

I agree with Chris, most countries have laws that state that when you buy an item it has to be fit for the purpose intended. So if it was sold as a working TV it should work for a reasonable period Most times signing a warranty is giving rights away. So you have to look at exctly what you bought and how it was described.

actually I bought it recertified from newegg. I pulled out my warranty recently and realized I never filled it out, so I think I am up a creek.

if it's the warranty card that came with it you don't have to fill it out at all you just need proof of purchase

Never ever ever fill in a warranty card regardless of what they say. If you do all you are doing is agreeing to all the small print, otherwise you have the same claim and agreed to nothing. Rob
