i have a zenith [model sls2555s] [serial 322-15270938][mfg in mexico july 1993]

what happens is that when i turn on the tv it fully matures

and i get everything to work on it really good and then it shuts it's self off and i have to unplug it for 5 mins and then plug it back in and repeat the process and that is all i get each time i run the tv.

is there any suggestions in why this happens and what to check for. if you can help me please i would greatly appreciate it so very much, as for this tv has become a pain! thank you guy's. reason of fixing this is cause i want to give the tv to a dear female friend of mine so she can watch it in her new apt. but she don't know that im doing this yet lol just wanting to make some one happy. my e-mail is eddy1673@yahoo.com

If you really like this girl, you wouldnt give her this piece of junk. Your problem sounds like a bad eleectrolytic in the power supply or a bad solder connection. It is well known on this forum and many others that zenith 25 and 27" sets made in 1993-94 are highly prone to picture tube failure which damages the chassis and the same time. If its true love, buy her a new set.

Coolfirst off thank you! for the info mr guest. second i didn't mention anything about Smilelove with this girl. and you might be rite about the zenith being a piece of Piratejunk! as for many of those tv's of those years were very much so, as you put itPirate junk! ya! more then Sly1000% rite about that! means that, its free to her and free to me, it was only supposed to be a quick fix tillCool i get her a new one.
