zenith plasma tv problem	Can't Post

i have a zenth 50 inch plasma that had no picture but did have sound.......i repalced the z board and no difference i then repalced the y board and now there is a picture on part of the screen about the right 25% of the screen and is grainy.......the left 75% of the screen is black.

i then disconnect the y buffers and the picure problem described above stays the same........there is no effect at all when i remove them...is there a way to test the boards for being shorted out using multimeter?

the buffer board is ebr38447802 and ebr3844602

im referring to testing the y buffers for short

using a multi meter? can it be done and if so how

I would check your address boards. They are the skinny ones all along the bottom and control your vertical. Sounds like the one where you have a little bit of pic is the bad one. That is why you don't have a pic past that point. Good luck to you.

thank you but now my pic is not there anymore..for some reason it changed on me...oh well its not worth troubleshooting anymore

new tvs are so cheap now its not worth repairing broken tvs anymore unless its simple and heap and the buffer boards at y boards are so expensive it better to buy a brand new tv

i bought a brand new plasma tv for way less than fixing the broken one

and its brand new with warranty

We purchased Zenith Z50PX2D on 1/15/06. Happy with the picture until July 2007 when with a pop the picture was gone. Called...wrote... faxed LG (they are now in charge of that product) finally agreed to cover repairs (first claimed only on year warranty I insisted on a LG website that showed 2 yrs, it was removed but I had the screen shot to prove it) It got fixed and we were happy until July 2009. Again the pop and no picture.. paid $680 fixed? 3 wks later thin multi color lines.. repair guy isnt calling back??
