Cannot get VCR to record DVD. HELP! Can't Post

Mad I can't seem to get my VCR (brand: Go-Video, dual deck VCR) to record a DVD onto a VHS. Everything is hooked up right, and the DVD will play and the VCR will be on and say "recording", but when I play the VHS back it is blank. Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks!

There are some brands out there who make copy write protected VCR/DVD players that prevent you from copying. This I believe is some BS, since it's perfectly legal to copy your own DVDs into VHS. There might be some ways around this.

Does your combo have a video/audio output and a input? It might be possible to copy directly by taking the output of the dvd and running that cable to the input. If that doesn't work let me know and I got another suggestion (though it requires both an input and an output on the combo)
