Hi,
Second DVD/VCR combo I have tried to set up - same problem blank screen so I assume the problem is me.

Current DVD/VCR is a Toshiba DVD/VCR Recorder With DivX (D-VR7) - I am using the white and red and separate yellow cables (RCA connectors) and connecting it exactly like the current LG VCR - which does record and play...

I have a digital box.

I also have a number of s-video cables. If I use the S-video cable would I only need to connect this cable and NO others (aside from the coaxial cables from the box to the vcr and the the coaxial cable from the vcr to the TV?) - i.e. NO AUDIO cable?

The LCD comes on and initially has some symbols (identical to the other failed-at-connecting-attempt (which was / is a Lite-on DVD/VCR combo-> dollar shop no manual)
Any advice?

S-video OR Yellow (Video) - either / or NOT BOTH!
I'd "Play" a DVD or Tape - at least you would know "output is cpnnected correctly.

Punch Brand, Model # and "Owners (User) manual" into Google box.

Still nothing.
The remote works. The cables all work (I used them on the VCR that works)

I followed the Toshiba manual.
There is no onscreen menu....
(This is the same "error" as the Lite-On combo - I cannot believe that they are both "lemons"
The only thing they have in common is me....
