JVC S3911U plays ok, then loses vert sync for about 25sec

My JVC S3911U plays Disney tapes ok (for a while), then loses vert sync gradually) until the video is totally gone (black and white noise) for about 25sec. Then it regains sync and plays well again. I am able to play these Disney tapes ok on another player. I can also play non-prerecorded tapes that I recorded years ago just fine. I don't think it is MV screwing it up, but it seems the video synchronization can not be maintained by my old JVC player. <br> <br>Any hints? Is there a video timing/sync circuit that has gone bad allowing too much drift? I am viewing the RF out and s-svideo, same output on both.<br>I cleaned the unit with a head cleaner. When it is in sync the video looks clean. Then it starts to degrade at the top of picture that slowly corrupts the screen until about 25% down it will totally loose sync. <br>mrV <br>
