SHARP VC-A230 NO SOUND

I have a sharp vcr picture is clear and i can hear the sound a little with the volume turned up loud but not very much. when i turn it to channel 4 and turn the tv to channel 4 there is no picture or sound, any help on this one would be great thanks..
