Sideways loading VCR Can't Post

Hi,

I'm working on a new project which requires me to either modify a typical VCR or acquire a sideways-loading VCR. Apologies for posting on a repair forum, but this is extremely important.

Does anyone have, or know of a place where I may purchase, a sideways loading VCR (i.e. approx. a four inch slot, as opposed to the traditional 7.5 inch slot). Working order is heavily preferable to a broken one, though I could probably fix it.

Thanks for your time.

B.

Re: [bryan6376] Sideways loading VCR [In reply to] Can't Post

I dont think that beast exists, the only one Ive ever seen is a double VCR ie 2 decks. Amstrad made it about 15 years ago and i dont think ive seen one since. Anyways it has to exceed the width of the tape as you have tape pull out and heads so add that in and i think you will find there is little difference which way it loads.
