Sony SLV750HF vcr, records but will not playback

I have a Sony SLV750HF vcr and the problem is it will record but when played back it is all mixed up. The sound works and after a while the tv goes blank but everthing is still working inside, sometimes it comes back on the tv for a few more seconds and go blank again. The tape is alright because I have tried it in the vcr in my rv and works properly. Does anyone have any ideas whats wrong?
