Toshiba tape wont load correctly

With cover off, gets stuck 1/2 way in, then will only load after I press eject on remote. After that, will load normally.
With cover on, have to use remote eject every time to load it.
Covered sensors one by one, but no effect.
Also tape will go back in on eject, if I dont grab it right away.
