VCR stuck on eject Can't Post

Hello everyone,

My JVC HR-VP422U is stuck on eject. Any time I try to put in a tape, it pushes it back out. I've taken it apart and looked around, but can't find any visible problems. I also have had to unplug it, because it will continue to attempt to eject if the power is left on (then it automatically shuts down). Can anyone help? It seems like such a waste to throw away a perfectly good machine...if I could just figure out what is wrong and fix it.....

Thanks!

Mabe the load switch needs to be cleaned this usaly is a thingy that is about the size of a quarted and with care can be taken apart, clean the inside with a pencil eraser till it all shiny blow out all the earser crap and put a toch of vasaline in it, reinstll this exactly as you found it, it the set is in the eject or unloaded possion you may find on the switch there are two arrows that line up, when you take the switch off check these and remember wher they line up for reassembly

If all else fails, try this. With the cover off and the power plug disconnected, locate the motor that turns the gear wheel that controls the mode switch. The mode switch determines at what state the VCR is in, i.e. stop, play, FF.RR, etc. As you rotate the motor by hand and watch the mechanism pull the tape on to the video head, continue in that direction until you hear a distinct click and there is very high resistance now in trying to turn the motor. Now leave it there and connect the power plug. The system should automatically reset itself into the STOP mode and unwind the tape off the video head and stop. When everything stops, try ejecting the tape and reintalling it and see if it loads. It's like setting the timing on an uncomputerized car. This problem comes up when someone jams a tape real hard into the machine and offsets the mode switch.
