the erase head is not erasing the old soundtrack.Clean the face of the erase head( the skinny one to the left of the headdrum) and if it is a push fit into the pcb make sure it is fully pushed in,or if a plug/socket fit tighten the connections.

Seemed to do the trick. Had bad solder joint on erase head pc and cleaned the head. Thanks!!
