av output on vcr Can't Post

the yellow and white plugs on my vcr have stopped working. they went from perfect, to fading in and out, to where i had to wiggle the cable til i got a picture, to nothing. now i have yellow and white going in but the regular silver(you know what i'm talking about)going out. i had my vcr open the other day to clean all of the heads on it, but i didn,t even think to look over there to see if it was somthing simple. so i wanted to ask on a forum somwhere before i opened it again. i asked on afterdawn and they told me vcrs are out, to ditch it, and get a dvd player(which i already have). but i'm just not the kind of person that throws somthing out every 3 years because it is "out". so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

take the board out that the sockets are attached to .you will probably find the sockets have come unsoldered so just resolder the conexions back onto the board.you could then sell it on e-bay antiques and memorabilia section!!

you were exactly right. i just got done putting it back together. but sure enough, each plug was conneted by two solders and the two plugs labeled out were both broken at their solders. i'll have to borrow a soldering iron, but atleast i know i can fix it now. thanks for the help.
