error message on display	Can't Post

hi everyone iam new to forum. i have a rca vcr model #vr639hf. the problem is sometimes when loading a tape err appears on the display. anybody seen this? any help appreciated. thanks

the mode switch contacts need cleaning. its a small circular switch under the mechanism that controls switching voltages.when the contacts are tarnished the vcr throws a wobble and doesnt know whether to go into play reverse or forward so shuts down with an error code showing.take it apart and spray with switch cleaner.
