need help-vcr model no. HR-A57U Can't Post

Need help with this JVC brand vcr. It wont start up . completely dead. I discoverd that there was a casettee jammed inside, however, it was taken out and when i turned on the power there was none.

can someone give me a helping hand. i have no schematic and cant get one.

I guess it begs to ask the question if the fuse is good? Should be a pig-tail fuse soldered on the board. Next, does the power supply have all of it's voltages? Most power supply boards have test points with printed values of the voltage outputs.

Gilloz,

The only fuse i have came across is the 1.25 a 250v fuse. whenever i would power up the unit . it would blow the fuse, so after the fuse blew i checked the entire power supply and i noticed that the fet K2043 was also opend. i need to replace the fet before i do anything further. I know i would certainly need service manual. Thanks for ur hyelp. and i will kieep u posted on developments.
