Can anyone explain to me what "Half load Stop (ff/rew) mode" means and how can I
set my vcr up for this mode? Thanks

On some brands, half-load stop means to unplug the unit at a certain point in the loading cycle, then plug it back in and maybe press a button or sequence of buttons to put the processor in a certain state. The service manual should explain the procedure.
