vcr repair Can't Post

my rca vcr will not even turn on. i unplugged the vcr without turning it off then plugged it back in and heard a popping sound. after this my vcr fails to show any signs of life. possible answers would be helpful.

VCR power supplys are a switching supply and when the go several capacitor and a few transisters have to be changed, in most cases this is clasified as a major repair by shops, or the entire supply if removable can be replaced but at a cost of betwean 25 and $85. And with the cost of new VCRs starting at about $35 many people just replace them

look at the back right side of the circuit board and see if there are any burn marks or charred components.
