Lab Coats? Can't Post

I assumed that the show closely followed reality. I read about a Police lab problem that resulted in an innocent man being jailed for murder. Jean Pauil Morin was released when DNA evidence exonerated him. It was found that two lab personnel refused to wear labcoats. It was discoved that fibres from a sweater had contaminated evidence linking Morin on the scene, his car and the victim. I read this on a defense lawyer site but why do none of the CSI principle CSI techs wear lab coats ?

I know, but they do occasionally wear them... like i always see greg wearing one in the labs but you only see Grissom and friends wear them when they are conducting like a 'REAL' experiment.... weird though!
