can i do this repair? Can't Post

 I have a Samsung 60" or so TV. Model # HKLT6175/XAA.
When I have a dark screen, thousands of tiny stars shine out at me. Someone said a chip was going out.
Does anyone know what chip (or chips) I need? Are they simple "pull it out, put a new one in", -- or --- is there de-soldering involved. I might change it, if it's simple. If it's advanced, I can't do it.......... Any programming needed?

Well, my wife's eyes are better than mine!!! Here's what she copied down for me:
Model: HLT61767SX/XAA
Ser no: B32T3CKP500293Z
Version: PHO1
Now maybe someone can tell me if it's a simple thing or not..... If not, I can't do it..

Well, I give up. It's one of those projector TVs, about 60" across the diagnonal. Was hoping someone could tell me whether the chip is a hard one to deal with, or not.....

Probably one of these: http://www.shopjimmy.com/dlp-chips/

Note the drop-down model number list.

My gosh !! You've got it down right. Even has my model in there.
Thanks for doing that. I can't do it. Yes, there is some programming needed. We'll take it to a guy locally that will charge us $368 for that service. It's not too bad a deal, given the projector TV. Those things cost several thousand bucks when new.
Again, thanks.
