DVD player keeps freezing

DVD player keeps freezing	Can't Post

My dvd player freezes every disc I put in there after about twenty minutes. Any idea what could be wrong? Is it just overheating? Would it be worth trying to get it fixed or should I just replace it? Thanks for the input :)

no make, no model number. either way it will probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

There may be a processor IC that is getting too hot. Take the lid off to see if it runs longer than 20 mins. when it shuts down, disconnect the power and touch each IC to see which one is the hottest (Be careful not to burn yourself). If you find one that will almost burn your fingers try putting a heat sink on it. You can get small 'stick-on' heat sinks at your local computer repair shop. -- Dan
