Question about tunerless dvd vcr?

Hi I need to buy a new dvd vcr combo player but most of the ones i want are tunerless the old one i had had a tuner,heres the question,i have basic comcast cable with a 5 yr old analog tv.do i hook up the tunerless ones the same way as tuner ones?
