Sanyo DVM400 Also Can't Post

It never says no disk, but it just keeps on scanning the disk. At times I re clean the disk and then it reads it. Any suggestions out there

if cleaning does not work, the laser is probably on it's way out.

Chris thanks for responding.. My question is this. the spindle motor that brings the laser to the disk. Has stop working could the laser also be not working too. So in that case does both parts need to be replaced or just the spindle motor? Everything else inside is fine cables are in very good condition..

you will probably find the motor and laser are supplied as one unit thus making the repair so expensive as to be not worth it.

Spindle motor's only job is to spin the disc.
Sled motor moves laser assembly.Wink

Can I ask you this when I opened up the Player. In the carriage when the laser goes up to read the disk and it spins. The spinning part is what stopped thats called the sled motor? not the spindle

The lens goes up and down (usually tries three times) as the spindle motor spins the disc. The sled will move from the center of the disc outwards towards the edge as it tries to find the TOC (table of contents).Smile
