Sony DVD Recoder issues Can't Post
Hi guys,
Such success last time, I am giving it another shot.
I have a Sony DVD/VCR recorder unit, model RDR-VX560. The problem I am having is that the one touch dubbing does not work at all. As a matter of fact, none of the dubbing features work. My folks bought this brand new, last year at Circuit City, before they went out of business. Just now do they tell me the VCR and DVD player work great, but they have never been able to dub (copy) their VCR tapes to DVD's. I thought I'd give it a shot, but they are correct, it doesn't work. Do you guys have any idea what it might be. I have looked the manual over and over and can not get the unit to work.
I have tried several types of DVD's to see if that was the problem, but it makes no difference what style I use. Any ideas? I am really stuck.

1) does each successfully record from tuner or aux?
2) One touch = DVD to VCR/ VCR to DVD / or Both ways?
3) can you provide a link to user manual? (Edit: Of course not, I don't know why I axed.)

Well, I have read the manual, and followed the steps, but nothing. I seriously think something is wrong with this thing. I would like to fix it, but if not, I guess its just a fancy VCR/DVD PLAYER.
It wont record at all. Not from the tuner or Aux. Weird huh?

If each portion won't record on their own, why would you expect it to be able to "dub?"Crazy

I agree , these things the usual is its the way you set it up, My own one you had to have the time set for it to work correctly (different brand). That was close to getting a foot through it before that was found. But the normal is, its programmed to do a recording some time in the future and thats job 1.
