Please help! My Sony DVP-CX985V multi disc DVD Player still says "Cannot Play" and I just installed a new optical Lens. I saw these posts which may be my answer. But like I said with the new optical lens I get the same message as before "Cannot Play". The pictures linked below look just like mine does. My question is how exactly do I remove the solder link??? I see what they are talking about but how do I fix the problem exactly? Thanks bearsdown1 New User Feb 4, 2009, 4:52 PM Post #2 of 6 (200 views) Copy Shortcut Re: [ch5richards] DVP-CX985V Problems with motor and lens. [In reply to] Can't Post Hello. Have you removed a soldered link from the laser. Most new lasers come with this link in place for anti-static reasons. It will not work until the link is removed. I am surprised the supplier did not mention this to you. Hope this solves the problem. ch5richards New User Feb 4, 2009, 5:06 PM Post #3 of 6 (199 views) Copy Shortcut Re: [bearsdown1] DVP-CX985V Problems with motor and lens. [In reply to] Can't Post I have no idea what you are talking about, but it sounds like a good place to start

Do you know where this soldered link might be located, and what it looks like.

I can take pictures of the front and back of the unit and put them anywhere you would like to see if you can see it.
*EDIT* OK, I took some quick pics, so they may not be the best. The first one is the new part, the second the original. I circled this thing (hopefully the soldered link) that looks like just a ball on the new one, but looks like it has been slip up, or at least messed with on the original. The second pic is of worse quality, but maybe you will be able to tell, if not, I can and will take more pictures. Also, I used Image shack, some people complain about them, so if you want I can post the pics else where.
