recording from direct tv	Can't Post

I have 2 separate questions.
1 Can I transfer programs recorded on my dvr recorder to my dvd recorder and burn them to a disc?
2 How can I record programs on my dvd recorder? It appears that i can connect the dvr to the dvd recorder using a hdmi cable out from the dvr to the in of the dvd recorder and then burn to a disc.

your no:1 question> yes but with a computer not a dvd direct
your no:2 question> You can record programs on your dvd recorder thru the tuner. Externally, you can only connect any other devices recording thru the S-VIDEO. There was only one SONY dvd recorder that allows you to record thru component input, but never thru HDMI.
