I have recorded home movies on disc and played them many times, now the recorder will not display the title list which allows me to play. The unit will play store bought movies ok. My recorded disc will play ok on another player. Has anyone had this problem. Please help. Bob

Sony have had problems with the laser assembly in their dvd recorders in the UK ,where it wont read own recordings so I guess its the same where you are. first see if there is a factory reset in the menus. otherwise you need a professional diagnosis. if the laser is faulty it will probably be cheaper to buy a new machine

I have same unit! exactly as the problem described but i don't think it's a problem. However, I sensed that only SONY disc recorded from their blank disc remains stable than any other blank disc. Avoid using low quality ones. Reason it always plays pre-recorded is from being professionally recorded. Consumer standards may vary depending on quality of your recordings and some restrictions applied limited to this player. Another reason it plays ok to another DVD player bec. most of dvd players now can bypassed encoded disc restricted or not, as long as there is a recording present. But since rdrgx7 is mainly a consumer recorder/ Restrictions always an issue.
