Recording from built in freeview Can't Post

I've just bought a JVC LT 32DS6BJ HD tv with build in freeview but the problem is if I want to record a movie from the digital channel I have to have the tv on.

Is there a setting on the tv that will leave the freeview on with the tv turned off so that I can set the dvd recorder to record whilst I'm out of the house or during the night?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

no. i bet the salesman didnt tell you that! some digital tv's have a built in timer so you can set the tv to come onto the digital channel at the same time as your recorder.usually you have to use av2 connection for this

I had another look at the JVC manual after your comment about setting the timer on the tv and then the recorder. The TV does have a timer in the EPG function.

That's my problem sorted. CoolCoolCheers
