ground block for RG6 Can't Post

Hi all,
I have a DB4 antenna and I just installed a winegard HDP 269 amp. it all works good.. I was told by our city inspector that I need to install a ground block to prevent static charge from the cable.
I do have a copper ground rod that the mast is connected to but I do not have a ground block for the cable.. Since I am using a amplifier on my antenna where in line does this ground block go ?
thanks
I hope that is a clear question.

If your downlead runs anywhere near masts copper ground rod, you can connect ground to there. If not, you could ground to another rod, electrical box or metal water pipe closer to where you've ran downlead.

Thanks for the reply,
I have the GB1 as shown in the link.
So then the amplified cable that is coming from the mast mounted amp can go into the G/block and then back out and go into the house to the power supply thing that looks like a splitter.?
would that be correct or should it go somewhere else in the circuit..?
thanks again

The downlead comes down from the antenna amp (looked like a mast-mounted amplifier) and before it enters building and before it gets "split" is the traditional spot.

Thanks, that is where I am going to put it then.

I was not sure if it would hurt the signal if the cable goes into a ground block then back out of it

thanks

You're grounding the shield - not the signal. That's why coax is an "unbalanced" system.
If done correctly, it won't have any effect on the signal. I believe code says something like ground within 3 feet of where coax enters building; ground wire must be larger than equiv. gauge of total braid; no longer than 3 foot ground lead and no sharp bends.
Don't forget your "drip-loops."

Smile Thanks,
got er done!!! Great pic still

thanks for the info I used #10 for the ground off the G/B and it is about 2feet from where it enters the building. plus I have my drip loop.
