720p plasma or 1080p lcd? 500 Can't Post

im thinking of buying a hdtv finally for my xbox 360. my bedroom is only like 12x15 all i do is stream movies usually hd format of 720 and some 1080 that i download and play alot of call of duty. so the tv is mainly for my xbox 360. ive found these 2 tvs that are for this my range of price 500 bucks.
samsung 43" plasma 720p

the constrast ratio isnt that good on the lg and i think the picture is so nice on the samsung cause i seen in the the store. lgs are nice tho.. im so stuck on this decision. plz help and clarify if you will what is the better buy in terms of specs and lifespan and 720p vs 1080p and plasma vs lcd plzzzzz

Well, if you buy a TV, you generally want it to last 5+ years, and by that time, we will (hopefully) be slowly transitioning towards a 1080p world. I would gladly pay the premium to get a 1080p, its not that much more.
