How do I split Digital Cable to VCR and HD box	Can't Post

We recently signed up for cable with HD and had to get an HD converter. So now I have cable to the TV through the converter so we can get the HD stuff and I have my VCR and DVD hooked up to the TV.

What I can't do is tape the Disney channel for my daughter.

So I think that I want to run a cable to the VCR and one straight to the HD converter box. I think that means that I want to get some sort of splitter cable. So what do I buy to this and to be sure that I still get an HD signal to the HD converter? (I was going to ask where I got the TV but articles in my local paper seemed to say that I would get a recommendation for something that was more expensive than I really needed.)

Please keep your answer very simple. I don't speak "cable" very well. Smile

I do not have or cable or a vcr but I will try to help you.

You should have the cable HD box connected to the tv with either HDMI or component video cables. So if the cable hd box has a coax out- just run a simple black coax from the cable box to the tv.Then connect the vcr to tv with either coax, s-video or video cable

This allow the signal to go from the cable hd box to the tv ( HDMI or component video cables ) and a cable signal from the cable box to the vcr ( black or white coax cable ) and the picture from the vcr to the tv ( s-video,coax or video cable )
