Looking for a 1080p LCD/Plasma TV Can't Post

Hey guys,

I am looking for a 1080p LCD or Plasma TV for mostly gaming and blue ray watching. My range is $1400-$1800 , and im looking for a 40"-42"" screen. Could you guys give me any opinions as to what you would think would be my best option? I also live in Canada if that makes a difference.

Obviously I am looking for a tv with good contrast ratio , response time , color + contrast.

Please help me out!
I have been looking at the following models so far:
Sony 40" 1080p V Bravia LCD

I wouldn't get a 1080p set for anything smaller than 57" set. I don't see a difference in picture quality between a 50" 1080p set or a the same brand 50" 720p set if you are sitting more than 8 feet from the set.

The only sources for 1080p are BluRay and HD dvds. I have a LG plasma and my Tosh HD player ( X-A2 ) showing HD dvds at 720p look great/outstanding.

Unless you are a video gamer, I would suggest you get a 720p plasma while the prices are reduced because of the 1080p craze. LG, Samsung,Pioneer or Panny are good brands for plasmas.
