Need help sony tv which one to buy for myself?

Hey guys I am currently looking for a T.V for my apartment at college. Right now I am looking at a sony 32 inch BRAVIA but I have two in mind. I am choosing between the 32 inch L series and S series. From my research the biggest difference between the two is that the L is 720p, and the S is 1080p. I will be using my t.v. for my PS3, and from time to time watch some blue ray movies, along with hooking up my laptop to it from time to time. My viewing range for the T.V will e around 6-8 feet when watching movies and around 5 feet when using it for games and laptop. Should I spend the extra $200 and go with the 1080p, or should the 720p be efficient for my needs? thanks for the help, I will also provide links to both T.V.S at the bottom.
