Older Mistubishi HDTV 15-pin? Can't Post

I have a Mitsubishi HDTV - it's about 10 years old at this point. Anyway, on the back next to the RGB inputs there's a spot that says HDTV Control and there's a 15-pin slot there.
I don't need this for HDTV - I have that with no issues, but I've had this thing for 10 years and have no idea what this 15-pin connection is for. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks
