Question: DTV channel mapping in hotels? Can't Post

I'm staying in a hotel in Bismarck, ND that recently changed their TVs to digital, receiving DTV cable from Midcontinent Communications cable TV. The TV is an LG 32LD320H-UA. I travel with a video recorder which is a Dvico TViX R-3300.

Here's the question. My video recorder detects the same channel numbers that are shown on cards given to the hotel by Midcontinent Communications. So this is what's coming down the pipe. These cards confuse most of the hotel guests.

However the LG TV displays entirely different DTV channel numbers (that also use - dashes).

Why would the LG TV remap the channels to entirely different numbers? This makes no sense. Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks for your help.
