Ripped HD video and S-Video/Composite? Can't Post

Hey!

Well, i bought a new FullHD TV and didn't even think about my stupid situation.

Well, basically, the TV has HDMI interfaces for best view. But what i didn't think at all is my computer (laptop) doesn't have both HDMI nor DVI interfaces, only VGA and S-VIDEO.

So, my question is if i use S-VIDEO or VGA to Composite adaptor to watch 720/1080p content that is in my computer, can it show the HD resolution for these?

I read my TV's manual that analog cables (all these) doesn't show HD resolutions, but i think it referred to the fact when you are watching a movie directly from BluRay disc?

Thanks for helping me out!

The truth is, Lot of you misunderstood what is HD, and interfaces with adaptors is there to resolve in inavailability of your current video source. VGA is considered HD VGA, it can be upconverted to DVI, and DVI to HDMI. Whichever you chooses. It will work with your laptop with HD pheripherals. What stupid is:>You do not want to connect anything from s-video to view an hd content.

yes, but if the tv has vga, it would be better to connect it there. You can also upconvert the vga to dvi if you're willing to spend extra.

Yeah, TV doesn't have VGA.

Does the VGA-to-DVI converter cost much?
