cable box changes channels by itself

I have recently purchased an HD TV and have upgraded my cable service to digital HD.
I have:
Cablevision cable box - Scientific Atlanta - Explorer 4250HD
DVD recorder (with hard drive) - Panasonic - DMR-EH55
TV - Sharp HD LCD - LC-62C42U
Cablevision service coaxial cable to cable box
cable box coaxial cable to DVD recorder
cable box HDMI cable to TV
DVD recorder HDMI cable to TV
My problem is the cable box changes channels by itself.
Cablevision replaced the cable box but that did not resolve the problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
