Can't view HDMI input	Can't Post

Good morning, I have recently acquired (for free!) an old Sony KDL 32S2000, I got the model number from the settings menu because I put the TV on the wall before I looked!
The issue I am having is that I have an HD free view box attached (brand new cable) to the one and only HDMI port and I cannot view it?! When I scroll through the inputs (or sources) I get AV 1-5 and PC only and none of a them display the HD freeview box?
I have my Sky HD box's secondary output connected to the aerial (analogue) socket, so no HD. And a DVD player connected to a SCART socket, they work fine.
I have looked through all the settings and read through an online manual and have tried having only the HD free view box connected and having it connected when I power up the TV but the TV will not auto recognize the input or display on the input list?
I know it's old but what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Read Operating instructions Pages 24 (Highlight External Inputs on the MENU control panel and press +. Press up/down arrow to highlight desired Input and press +) and Page 32 (If you select Skip, your TV skips this Input when you press the TV/Video button).

IF all else fails Do reset at bottom of page 42.

None of the av channels were "skipped", however I tried a different HDMI cable and it now works (on av4), the original cable is brand new, it is a high-speed one "with Ethernet"?? I swapped it with my sons Xbox 360 and it works with that, but his tv is newer. Thanks.
